The name Cuerno Verde means "Green Horn" in English and refers to the green horn that this Cuchanec Comanche chief wore in his headdress.  Wallace Coffee, 1995 chairman of the Comanche Nation, said in a conversation with Ron Kessler that he feels certain the headdress had two horns, one black and one green.  Green is the sacred color of the Comanches.
